If you didn’t know, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary the Pokémon company has been running a P25 Music Campaign, bringing together a cavelcade of fantastic modern day artists, including Post Malone. As part of this campaign they are compiling an album named Pokémon 25: The Album, and one of the tracks, performed by Katy Perry, will be dropped tomorrow.
It seems like the pop sensation has been off the radio, perhaps out hunting Pokémon, for the past couple of years but is now back with a vengance. She took to social media to reveal that her latest song, ‘Electric‘, will be releasing this Friday.
This track will be available on all standard audio platforms and you can already go ahead and pre-save it on Spotify if you’re interested, or subscribe to the embed below to be notified 👇
The track will be premiering at 04:00 GMT on May 14th 2021, just 6 hours after this post is published. I won’t be setting my alarm, but will be something fun to watch over breakfast, or if PokéBaby gets me up at 6am again.
If you’re reading from another timezone other than GMT, it may be premiering on the 13th in the evening!
“It is an honour to be chosen to help celebrate a franchise that has given me so much joy in the last 25 years, and to be able to watch it evolve in the ways it’s provided that kind of electric joy for the kids in my life and around the world,” she said at the time.

The compilation will feature 14 songs by 11 UMG artists, including J Balvin and Post Malone.
